Vitamin C (a.k.a. ascorbic acid) is one of the worse supplements you can buy over – the – counter (OTC). Like other OTC supplements, you never know what you’re truly getting in the ingredients, because most all OTC brands use low-quality ascorbic acid that has been sourced from China, the world’s largest producer of ascorbic acid. Between the years 2013 and 2015 China contributed 80 – 90% of the world’s vitamin C supply.
If you remember, China does not have a very solid reputation when it comes to quality, especially as it pertains to keeping chemicals and unknown substances out of their products; i.e. recent examples include lead in toys, contaminated infant formula and powdered milk.
To make this problem worse, the U.S. government does not test imported vitamins and supplements or their ingredients. For cheap OTC supplement brands this is a plus, because they can adulterate the products with unknown substances.
This is just one of many reasons I strongly recommend patients and consumers alike to purchase physician grade supplements, which are held to a much higher standard of scrutiny.

Learn from a Licensed Acupuncturist how to use acupressure points to relieve pain and stress
Moline, IL, March 30, 2015 – For thousands of years acupressure has been used by many different cultures to relieve pain and manage various types of illnesses. Even today, these easy to learn techniques can be very useful in our busy lifestyles. This hands – on - workshop is designed for the general public to learn effective self-care techniques that can be used to reduce pain associated with headaches & sinus problems; as well as, reducing stress.
What is acupressure? It’s the application of pressure and massage to specific acupuncture points in order to elicit a therapeutic response by stimulating the nervous system, specific areas in the brain and local vasculature.
What you will learn? The basic theory behind acupressure points, how to locate them, their actions & indications, contraindications, and how to correctly use them.

According to the American Heart Association 1 out 3 or 77.9 million adults have high blood pressure, half of whom don't have it under control. Heart disease is also the leading cause of death for both men and women. In the Quad Cities, the prevalence of heart disease is 9.2% compared to the national average of 6.1%.
Unfortunately, Western medicine's answer to high blood pressure is to suppress the symptom with prescription drugs, which you are expected to take for the rest of your life. That's not a treatment! Getting to the root of the problem and treating the root is the answer to better patient outcomes.
On February 10th at 6pm – 7pm inside Moline Chiropractic Clinic, Dr. Wayne Davis of Moline Chiropractic Clinic and Scott Stewart, MSAc., Dipl.Ac., LAc. of Healing Lotus Acupuncture will be giving a presentation on many of the often overlooked causes of high blood pressure, and the effectiveness of Eastern medicine and chiropractic care, along with lifestyle modifications, which can naturally lower blood pressure. There will also be a brief synopsis on how the mechanism of acupuncture and chiropractic care can modulate the body’s innate regulatory system, and thereby lower blood pressure.
